Biographies

CLAIRE SPRATT (nee BUTLER) - Artistic Director
Claire trained at RADA and has worked in stage management & theatre production since 1991. Plays include; The Taming of the Shrew, Hayfever, The Woman In Black, The Glass Menagerie, Women on the Verge of HRT Get Away, Lucky Sods, Lonely Hearts, Dracula, Passion Killers, Gym & Tonic, Bouncers, La Ronde, Joan of Kent and The Gift. Claire has worked on The Joe Longthorne Show, The illusion show Mystique, several summer variety seasons, numerous charity galas and 17 top pantomimes around the UK with a host of famous faces at venues including; Hull New Threatre, Inverness Eden Court, Sunderland Empire, Darlington Civic, Dartford Orchard, Leicester De Montfort Hall and Billingham Forum. Various companies Claire has worked for throughout the UK include; The Royal Opera, Hull Truck, Richmond's Orange Tree, Kent Rep, York Theatre Royal, Qdos Entertainment, International Artistes, Great Escape Theatre Company, Theatre of the Wheel & Duggie Chapman Associates. Claire has company managed productions at the Assembly Rooms during the Edinburgh Festival, tour managed a number of top tribute bands on No. 1 UK tours, which included 4 months in the West End with Abba Mania, and has worked as a production & stage manager on a number of touring plays and shows including the Funny Guys tour with Cannon & Ball. Her first self-penned play, Standby On Stage Please! premiered at the Buxton Festival Fringe in 2009. Following this Claire won a place in the finals of The Daffodil Theatre Awards with her play Nightwatch. Claire founded Planet Rabbit in 2008 and produces all their plays and has directed 4, of the 8, Planet Rabbit plays.

Fiona trained at Northumbria University, gaining a BA (Hons) in Performance in 2007. Her credits whilst in training include; A Midsummer Night's Disco Dream, Spoonface Steinberg, Road Too and Whores D'Oeuvres. Since graduating Fiona has played Sandra in 'Breezeblock Park', Katherine in 'Nightmare', Young Girl in 'Cafe Thoughts', all 7 female roles in 'Two' and 'Zoe' in a 3 month tour of 'Stay In Learning'. Short films include; 'Lily' (2006), 'Young, Used & Famous' (2006), 'The Boolean Operators' (2007), A Short Film About Friendship' (2008) and feature films 'Possession' (2000) and 'Small World' (2008). TV credits include; Byker Grove and Wire In The Blood. Fiona regularly performs in 'Tea Time Tales' at Whitby Pavilion Theatre, belongs to the Limelight Company who improvise murder mystery nights and she is a workshop assistant at a branch of the Paul Nicholas School of Acting.

JACKIE GRIMWOOD - Actor. Gewnda/WPC, 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009). 
Jackie trained in dance & drama & began her professional career as a dancer for Lionel Blair in the national tour of 'No No Nanette'. She went on to appear in numerous summer seasons, pantomimes, cabaret & variety shows throughout the country. She appeared in the record-breaking 'Comedians' stage show in Blackpool & the 'Maz Bygraves Show' at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London, which ran for one year. TV credits inc; 'All Creatures Great & Small', 'The Enigma Files' and 'A Touch of Frost'. She appeared in the ITV series 'Who Do You Do?' as an impressionist and in many TV commercials, promotional films & voice overs. Pantomime credits inc; Principle Girl (Barnsley), Queen Rat (Doncaster & Rotherham), Principle Girl/Fairy (Wakefield), Wicked Queen (New Brighton), Fairy (Scunthorpe - 3 yrs), plus The Wicked Witch of the West in the 'Wizard of Oz' (Middlesbrough) and Miss Hannigan in 'Annie' (Rotherham). 

MICK SPRATT - Wigwam Acoustics Ltd (Sound recordings & equipment)
Mick co-founded Wigwam Acoustics in 1972 and continues to work as Managing Director. Wigwam have gone on to become one of the most successful & respected PA companies in Europe. Early clients include; Cannon and Ball, Freddie Starr, The Ivy League and The Hollies, who are still customers to this day. Wigwam have provided sound on theatre shows including; The Rocky Horror Show, Chess, 42nd Street, Aspects of Love, Oh! What a Night, Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Bob the Builder. They supply and engineer concerts for countless tours including; Peter Kay, Coldplay, The Spice Girls, George Michael, Westlife, McFly, Bjork and events including the Queen's Golden Jubilee & 17 years working on the Edinburgh Tattoo. ROBERTA KERR - Actor. Elsie, 'Elsie & Norm's Macbeth' (2010)
Roberta has performed in Macbeth on previous occasions, as First Witch for Old Vic, Stoke and as Lady Macbeth in filmed extracts, so she is looked forward to working with Planet Rabbit on this unusual version of the play! GERRY HINKS - Actor. Norm, 'Elsie & Norm's Macbeth' (2010)
Gerry is married and lives in Rugeley in Staffordshire. He was delighted to join the company for this production of Elsie & Norm's Macbeth. Theatre credits include: One for the Pot, Funny Money, Sailor Beware, Dry Rot, Corpse, Hindle Wakes, Rookery Nook, Chiltern Hundreds, See How They Run, Growing Old Disgracefully and Habeas Corpus for Jill Freud; The Entertainer for The Lichfield Garrick; Kafka's Dick for The Duke's Lancaster; Double Death for The Mill at Sonning; The Railway Children for Middle Ground Theatre Company; The Rivals, Man for All Seasons and Hobson's Choice for Lookout Theatre; and many more stage plays. Television credits include: ten episodes of Coronation Street as Reverend Graham Broadbent, The Royal, Emmerdale, No Angels, Bad Girls, Doctors, Days That Shook The World, Anatomy Of A Crime, Dalziel and Pascoe, The Cops, The Bill, Dangerfield and Hollyoaks. ANDY FOX - Director. 'Anorak of Fire' (2009). 'Elsie & Norm's Macbeth' (2010)
Andy graduated from Mountview Theatre Academy in 1984. He then spent 20 years performing on the comedy circuit, becoming a regular at Jongleurs, The Comedy Cafe in Shoreditch & toured the UK, Holland & Ireland. Andy ran his own comedy clubs; The Tut Club in Islington, The Torrington in Finchley & The Mousetrap Club in Bunjies in London's West End. He taught comedy at The Albany in Deptford, Jackson's Lane in Highgate and at The City Lit in Holborn. Andy wrote & performed the one man show, 'The Story of Love and Hate', an appreciation of Robert Mitchum, (Edinburgh Fringe 2002 & later touring Kent in 2006). Recent acting credits include; 'Toast' (Hull Truck), 'Stereo' (Arc Theatre), 'Jack & the Beanstalk' (Hull 2007/08), has played 'Scrooge' (twice!) and the 2009 national tour of 'Kes'. He has appeared in the British comedy film 'Cheeky' directed by David Thewlis. Andy was resident host of The Sitcom Trials at The Leicester Square Theatre in London (2009).

SUE BRACKENBURY - Choreographer. 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009). 'Elsie & Norm's Macbeth' (2010)
Sue is a choreographer and dance and drama teacher based in the north east of England. As a teacher she has worked in many schools and colleges and has taught every age group from 3 years to 73 years! She also runs a successful theatre school in Billingham with her partner Steve McNichol. As a choreographer Sue has staged more musicals than she can count and is always looking for a new challenge. Therefore Sue really relished choreographing 7 numbers to original music for 'Bazaar & Rummage'. 

MICHAEL WARDLE - Actor. George, 'Groping for Words' (2008). Tramp, 'Sorry, I Love You...' (2010).
Michael trained at the Guildford School of Acting. He starred in several plays at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford, followed by 'Bequest to the Nation' at the Haymarket, London, on the recommendation of Alec Guiness. Other plays include; Hamlet (Windsor), The Merchant of Venice and Misalliance (York), Eastbourne Rep and Harrogate Rep (4 seasons). Michael has TV, film and commercial credits spanning 30 years including; Z Cars, When the Boat Comes In, Emmerdale, Crossroads, Coronation Street, All Creatures Great & Small, Last of the Summer Wine, Cold Feet, Where the Heart Is, Fat Friends, Steel River Blues, Holby City, No Angels, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Heartbeat, I'm Alan Partridge (Gordon, Lynn's boyfriend) & 'Parkin' the farmer in the iconic film 'Withnail & I'.

RICHARD DIPPLE - Actor. Jools, 'Sorry, I Love You...' (2010)
Richard has worked as an actor for the last ten years spanning theatre, TV, film and radio. He has recently appeared in 'Till My Eyes Bleed' (Act One) at the Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds. Other significant credits include; Felix in 'The Odd Couple' (A Merry Can Theatre), Jerry in 'The Zoo Story' (A Merry Can Theatre), Joey in 'The Homecoming' (WLT) and George Deever in 'All My Sons' (Gaiety Theatre). His TV credits include; Fat Friends, Bodies, Where the Heart Is and Ghost Squad. Richard has appeared in a number of short films, the most recent being 'Dare You To Move' (KTDA Productions).

JAYNE ASHLEY - Actor. Helen, 'Sorry, I Love You...' (2010).
Jayne trained in her home town of Liverpool, gaining a diploma in acting and musical theatre. Theatre credits include 'Fairy Bow Bells' in Dick Whittington (Gatehouse Theatre, Stafford); 'Chick Boyle' in Crimes of the Heart (Union Theatre, London); 'Susan' in Company (Broadway Theatre, London); 'Crissy' in Hair (Octagon Theatre, Yeovil); 'Dorothy' in The Wizard of Oz (Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage); 'Agnetha' in Abba Mania in London's West End and touring major UK venues. Television appearances include 'And The Beat Goes On' (Channel 4), 'Holby City' (BBC), 'The Broker's Man (BBC), recently Jayne appeared alongside Nigella Lawson in an advertisement for Twinnings Tea! In between acting jobs Jayne works as a dance instructor and professional singer. She is a member of the funk/soul band 'Frank The Cat', who perform regularly around the UK.

GAYLE DENNIS - Actor. Joyce, 'Groping for Words' (2008). Nursery Teacher, 'George - Don't Do That' (2009). Susan, 'Nightwatch' (2009)
Gayle trained at Birmingham School of Speech & Drama. She has worked throughout the UK and Europe with productions including; 'Georgette' in Puccini's opera Manon Lescaut (Opera North), Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania), Twelfth Night (Maria), DH Lawrence's Daughter-in-law, Strindberg's The Stronger, Harold Pinter's The Lover and A Slight Ache, Alan Avery's Borders and most recently Taming of the Shrew (Katherine). TV credits include; The Royal, Heartbeat, Micawber, Forsyte Saga, God's Architects and Afternoon Plays. She has starred in 2 short films; 'Sunday Morning' and 'Butterflies'. Gayle has had a string of leading roles in pantomimes including; Aladdin, Jack & the Beanstalk, Treasure Island, Sleeping Beauty, Dick Whittington, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs and Red Riding Hood.

IAN HAYLES - Actor. Pete, 'Nightwatch' (2009)
Ian's stage credits include; A Midsummer Night's Dream (Lodestar Theatre Company), Casting the Oracle (Talk of the Town at Manchester Royal Exchange), As You Like It and Twelfth Night (Pentacle Theatre), Plunder (Theatre of Comedy), The Chimes, A Christmas Carol, A Cause for Concern, Waiting for the Storm and The Great Christmas Pudding Adventure (all for Wigan Pier Theatre Company). Ian has worked on numerous radio plays, short films and cabaret performances, including a one man show as Stanley Holloway (Albert & Others). TV credits include; Masterclass: Brian Blessed/The Room, 'Egg' (a comedy sketch show) and a 2010 appearance in Coronation Street. Ian is the voice of Ahriman the Cook in the CGI film 'Kawa the Blackbeard'.


JULIE GUARD - Actor. Bell-Bell, 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009)
Julie graduated with a HNC in Drama from City College, Manchester in 2002. Theatre credits include; Alice in 'Alice in Wonderland' (Manchester Actors Company), 'Bloomin' Poetry' (Manchester Actors Company), 'The Golden Voyage of Sinbad' (Bitesize Theatre) and 'Macbeth' & 'Twelfth Night' as part of 'Shakespeare for Schools' (Bitesize Theatre). Musical Theatre tours include; 'We'll Meet Again' and 'Roses in December', both for Fozel Theatre. She has also appeared in a number of short films including 'Bodycount' (2007), 'Dearly Beloved' (2004) and appeared as a supporting artiste in the feature film 'Sweeney Todd' (2008). Julie is a member of the VADA Community Theatre Company in Manchester and has appeared in several of their productions over the last 8 years.

SAMANTHA WORRALL - Actor. Katrina, 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009)
Samantha graduated from Bretton Hall University of Leeds in 2002, gaining a 1st Class BA Hons in Theatre Acting. She has since been involved in numerous theatre productions. Favourite credits include; 'Maid Marion' in Robin Hood (The Lowry Theatre, Manchester), 'Shell' in No Place for Dreams (The Edinburgh Fringe 2008), 'Wendy' in Peter Pan (The Bury Met), 'Belle' in Beauty & the Beast (Charter Theatre, Preston), 'Gerda' in The Snow Queen (The Bury Met) and 'Bess of Hardwick', performed at Hardwick Hall as part of the Derbyshire Literature Festival. Samantha has worked extensively with children's theatre and was recently involved with a 2 week arts project with the Derby Youth Offending Team. Samantha is also a keen director, directing credits include; Popcorn by Ben Elton and a play for Brief Candle Theatre in October 2009.

ANNETTE MARRIETTE - Actor. Margaret, 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009)
Annette graduated from St. John's University, York in 2003 with a BA Hons degree in Theatre, Film & Television. She has since performed throughout the UK in several theatre productions including; 'Beatrice' in Much Ado About Nothing, 'Ariel' in The Tempest, (both for Say Two Theatre), 'Buttons' in Cinderella and 'Widow Twanky' in Aladdin, (both for Chaplins Pantomimes). In 2005 Annette played Fat Eddie's Wife in the feature film 'Six Bend Trap' (Ironopolis Films) and has appeared in several short films & corporate videos including; 'The Maid at Nunnington Hall' for The National Trust and as a 'Speed-Dater' in a musical video for The Stanleys. Most recently Annette has appeared on stage as a cowgirl with the comedy duo Lip Service at York Theatre Royal.

HARRY GALLAGHER - Director. 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009)
Harry has worked as an actor for the last 10 years, touring in various productions including; 'Riot' (Liverpool Unity), 'Laughter Factory' (North East tour), 'A Little Princess' (National tour) and playing Richard III in the 2009 production, 'Stone Colde'. Other plays include; 'Scribblers', 'Scrooge', 'Ships That Pass', 'What About Rachel?' 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner', 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe' and 'Macbeth'. Harry has also directed several plays, including Sue Townsend's comedy 'Groping for Words', which he also acted in (a separate production to Planet Rabbit's 2008 tour). He has made numerous short film appearances including 'Making Tea for the Mob', 'The Date' and 'Never Again'. TV dramas include '55 Degrees North', plus the 2007 film 'Act of Contrition' and the radio play 'Waiting for the Signal'.

NATHAN DAWE - Composer. 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009)
Nathan is a freelance composer & musical director. Recent work includes playing at the O2 Arena with the 'Gotta Sing, Gotta Dance' UK tour, musically directing & conducting 'Oliver' (Edinburgh Playhouse), play in the 5 month London run of 'Menopause the Musical' (Su Pollard et al), on the 'Saturday Night Fever' tour and with The Shaun Williamson Band (Barry, Eastenders) for Ch5's So You Think You Can Teach. He has performed at West End Live & supported The Sugarbabes, The James Taylor Quartet and The Lenny Henry Band. Nathan has written music for a touring production of 'Twelfth Night', and prepared music for all of the Qdos pantomimes around the country. He has played in the band for 5 pantomimes at Hull New Theatre. Nathan musically directs graduate shows at The Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. He recently started a composition/production company; 'id music productions' (info@idmusicproductions.co.uk). His debut CD 'Footsteps' reached the finals of The UK Song Competition and is available on the Dress Circle record label (dresscircle.co.uk), featuring Ashley Lilley from the hit film 'Mamma Mia.'

JEN SANDERSON - Stage Manager. 'Anorak of Fire' (2009) & 'Bazaar & Rummage' (2009)
Jen began working as a lighting technician and stage hand at the Civic Theatre in Darlington from leaving school in 1999. She continues to work there to this day, working as an integral member of the theatre's lighting department and stage crew, with a variety of responsibilities for touring plays, musicals and pantomimes visiting Darlington. Jen's additional credits include touring as Number 2 Lighting Technician on 'Buddy' in both Denmark and Jersey and as Assistant Stage Manager for Qdos Pantomimes on 'Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs' (Hull New Theatre, 2008/09) and on 'Aladdin' (Darlington Civic, 2009/10).

CHRIS LEACH - Actor. Kevin, 'Groping for Words' (2008). Gus, 'Anorak of Fire' (2009)
Chris graduated from the University of Leeds, Bretton Hall, in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Acting. Whilst at Bretton Hall Chris played 'Les' in an anniversary production of Bouncers at Leeds City Arts Gallery and 'Robbie Turner' in an adaptation of Atonement for the grand opening of The Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds. Chris has appeared in a number of short films as well as a music video for Leeds band, Wintermute. Recent Theatre credits include 'P.C Pong' in Aladdin (Bruce James Productions) at the Thameside Theatre, Grays and 'Harold Hopkins' in Big Bad Mouse (Paul Elliott) starring Cannon & Ball at Lincoln Theatre Royal (2007) followed by the 2008 No. 1 UK tour.

EMILY TREBICKI - Actor. Suzi, 'Standby On Stage Please! (2009)
Emily graduated Laine Theatre Arts with a diploma in Musical Theatre (Hons), ISTD teaching qualification & A.L.A.M (LAMDA) in Acting (Hons). Theatre credits inc; 'A Night at the Musicals' (UK tour - original cast/principle vocalist), 'Annie' (Perth Rep), 'Beauty & the Beast'/'Hercules' (Disney Wonder), 'Encore' - Broadway Revue (Tokyo Disney Sea, Japan). Emily created the roles of 'Kate' in musical 'Teen Scream' (Lincoln Theatre Royal/Edinburgh Festival) & 'Millie Davenport' in 'No Place Like a Home' (two UK tours), followed by 'Fiona Jones' in 'Big Bad Mouse' (Lincoln Theatre Royal & UK tour). Emily is the voice of a personal trainer on the Wii game 'New U' & on two summer musicals for Thomas Cook as 'Dizzy the Dolphin'. She has recorded Christmas CD's & voice-over's for Amphonic Music & Paramount. Commercial work inc; Costcutter & Sokers TV. Emily has had principle roles in pantos inc; Snow White (Plymouth), Aladdin (Plymouth/Southport), Dick Whittington (Cardiff), Cinderella (Southsea/Torquay), Jack & the Beanstalk' (Hull/Halifax/Lincoln).

LAURA SPRATT - Actor. Thelma, 'Groping for Words' (2008)
Laura trained at Buckinghamshire & Chilterns University College, gaining a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre. Shows included; 'Into The Woods' and 'Cabaret'. Laura has toured Belguim in Kid Creole's 'Marvin Gaye The Musical' where she created and played the role of Addy Kaegi. She then went on to star in the short film 'Bitter & Lost', written & directed by Bobby Ball and appears in the feature film 'City Rats' starring Danny Dyer. Laura has worked as part of the production team on Michael Flatley's Celtic Tiger, (touring Hong Kong, Taiwan, USA, Canada & Europe), on the No. 1 UK tour of 'Oh! What a Night', the 2009 world tour with PINK & is currently touring with LADY GAGA (2010/11).

PETER MARTIN - Director. 'Groping for Words' (2008)
Peter is probably best known for his regular role as 'Len Reynolds' Emmerdale, as 'Joe Carroll' in The Royle Family and as 'Ernie' in the award winning hit film Brassed Off. Peter's extensive TV work work includes; Playing The Field, Dalziel & Pascoe, Doctors, The Bill, Casualty, Dinnerladies, Heartbeat, Where The Heart Is, Last of the Summer Wine, Peak Practice, A Bit Of A Do, The Victoria Wood Show, The New Statesman, Rik Mayall Presents, The Beiderbecke Tapes, The Beiderbecke Connection, Bergerac, All Creatures Great & Small, Juliet Bravo, In Loving Memory, and First Among Equals. Peter's film work includes The Parole Officer and Funny Bones. Peter played the role of 'Captain Mainwaring' in the UK theatre tour of Dad's Army.

DAVE SIMPSON - Lighting Supplier. 'Groping for Words' (2008) Buxton Fringe Productions (2009)
Dave began stage lighting for a touring rock band, after working as a musician for 25 years, later forming Light Tastic Productions providing equipment, operators and lighting solutions for shows of all sizes. Dave looks after the lighting rig for cabaret & Christmas productions at Park Hall, Chorley and has supplied & operated the tribute show 'Legends', including Christmas productions & 5 years at Blackpool's Central Pier, (which is now one of the most successful summer seasons in the UK). Dave designed, operated and supplied the No. 1 UK tours of 'Abba Mania', which went in to the West End, the Deutches Theatre, Munich and a stadium tour of Europe & performances at the the home of the Russian Royal Ballet, Moscow. www.b-visible.co.uk/lighttastic

CAT ROBSON - Stage Manager. 'Groping for Words' (2008)
Cat trained at the Newcastle Centre for Performing Arts. She has worked at Darlington Civic Theatre and the Blackpool's Grand Theatre, followed by UK tours with The Chuckle Brothers and summer season shows including Boogie Nights with Jimmy Osmond and Billy Pearce. Cat worked for Stageworks Worldwide Productions in Blackpool for 2 seasons on the illusion show 'Mystique', (2005 & 2006), and has worked on numerous pantomimes at theatres around the UK including Bradford, Hull & Southend. Cat stage managed Blackpool's illusion show 'Beyond Belief' in 2007 & 2008.
